On 4 May, the Pak army attacked the Pirojpur first. On the way from Hularhat to the city they started massacre in Machimpur and Krishnanagar villages. With the help of local rajakars, Hindus and independents of Bangladesh are given houses on fire, and many people are killed.
The SDO (Acting) Abdur Razzak (Comilla), the magistrate Saif Mizanur Rahman (Narail), SDPO Faizur Ahmed (Mymensingh) were shot dead in Pirojpur with the help of the Razakars on May 6. Moslem Ali Sheikh, Abdur Rahman Sardar, Abdul Gaffar Master of Khaulbunia, Jalil Hawlader, Satkh Majhi of Zuzhkhola and 12 freedom fighters, including Sammur Pharaji, were brought from the village of Chalitakhali, near Pirojpur, in the first week of December. They were brutally murdered in the killing area of Baleswar.
On December 8, 1971, at that time the Pirojpur subdivision of Pirojpur town was liberated and ended with a long 9-month armed war. Victory flag hoisted in the house of Pirojpur.
